What is Ayurveda? ANSWER. Ayurveda is an ancient system of medicine that originated in India just over 5,000 years ago. It focuses on achieving balance in the body and mind through dietary guidelines, herbal remedies and lifestyle practices. Ayurvedic principles aim, not only at restoring and maintaining health in the body but also at rejuvenating the body by harmonizing the individual’s unique constitution, known as the Doshas.

Are you qualified? ANSWER. I am a qualified Ayurvedic lifestyle consultant, I studied under Dr Ajit, Australia’s most experienced Ayurvedic Dr and graduated at the Australian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies.

What does an Ayurvedic treatment look like? ANSWER. Ayurvedic treatments involve the use of medicated oils and healing techniques specific to each individual’s body type. Those treatments focus on detoxifying, cleaning, rejuvenating and balancing the body.

Are treatments covered by Private health insurance? ANSWER. No. Ayurveda is usually not included in the “Complementary Therapies” of most private health funds. In doubt check with your insurer.

Do I need to be sick to have a treatment? ANSWER. Luckily NO! Ayurveda emphasizes preventive measures to maintain good health and prevent diseases. Rasayana or rejuvenating therapies are aimed at promoting vitality, longevity and overall well-being. These therapies focus on revitalizing the body and mind, enhancing immune function and slowing down the aging process

What health condition can you help me with? ANSWER. Ayurveda can be used to address all kind of health conditions. Feel free to contact me if you wish to discuss any concerns first. - digestive Disorders - Respiratory conditions - Skin problems - Stress and anxiety - Hormonal imbalances - Sleep disorders

How should I prepare for a treatment? ANSWER. If this is your first treatment, please try to arrive 10 minutes prior to your appointment so that you may fill out the appropriate form. Wear comfortable clothes. Please be aware that quite a lot of oil will be used so it is best not to wear expensive clothes or have plans straight after your appointment.

How often should I have a treatment? ANSWER. It depends on the individual and your personal situation, but it is highly recommended to receive a treatment twice a month. Depending on your health assessment some treatments might need to be given as a series.
