DAILY AYURVEDIC ROUTINE FOR GOOD HEALTH

Updated: Nov 23, 2022

A simple but regular Ayurvedic daily routine is one the most powerful tool to improve overall health and wellbeing. I personally found these practices very grounding and the simple dedication of doing something for me, extremely nurturing and rewarding.

But often, implementing changes in our very busy lives can be a challenging and frustrating so for the best results, have fun with it and patience with yourself, be nourished by the process and add more to your routine only when you feel ready and truly inspired to do so.

Get up early to complete your routine before breakfast •

Upon rising

1 Brush your teeth and scrape your tongue

Overnight our body naturally pushes toxins presents in our guts through our tongue. Scraping your tongue within 3 to 5 minutes of getting up, prevents the reabsorption of those toxins.

2 Do Nasya

Nasya helps balancing our pineal and pituitary glands and therefore our hormonal levels; for this reason, many women notice very positive changes to their menstrual cycle following a regular Nasya practice. This process also increases serotonin levels, creating joy, a deeper sense of wellbeing and happiness. This practice will also help reduce your sinus and migraine issues. Nasya is a crucial part in this daily routine and should not be neglected. Administer about 3 drops of warmed Nasya oil in each nostril. After a couple of gentle sniffs, use your index and middle finger to massage the sides of your nose in an upward motion 3 times. You may even find yourself inspired to start crafting your own

3 Lemon Ginger Honey morning drink

“Please be mindful to respect quantities indicated below as increasing those might aggravate Pitta dosha”

This drink will get rid of the toxins accumulated in the gut overnight and will stimulate the lymphatic system. Optional: 1/2 tsp of ground Fennel will help with inflammation in the body. Optional: ½ of Ground fenugreek if you have too much mucus like sinus issues.

  • ½ tsp of lemon,

  • ½ tsp of grated ginger,

  • ½ of honey,

  • Warm water (honey should NEVER be added to hot water or it becomes very toxic for the body so make sure your water is luke warm when adding your honey)
